About the Saw Palmetto

The Saw Palmetto is one of the most common palm tree types in South Carolina. It is a low growing fan palm with stiff leaves and spiny stem.

The tree usually grows along the ground and seldom has an upright trunk. It is a very hardy palm that can survive temperatures below 0°F. This palm can be used as a ground cover or an under story plant.

For all of these reasons we recommend the Saw Palmetto for Mt. Pleasant, Charleston, Kiawah SC and surrounding areas.
