Mule Palm (x Butyagrus nabonnandii)

The Mule Palm, X Butiagrus nabonnandii, is one of the most beautiful of all the frost-hardy pinnate-leaved palms. Its rarity and useful size make it a treasure for warm climate gardens.Due to its large size and long fronds, it makes a nice specimen plant that provides a real tropical look. For that reason we recommend the Pindo Palm Tree for Mt. Pleasant, Charleston, Kiawah SC and surrounding areas.

When established, the mule palm can be expected to survive low temperatures to near 14F (-10C) or as low as 10F.

  • Growth rate average to fast
