Ribbon Palm (Livistonia Decipiens)

Other names:

Fountain Palm

About the Ribbon Palm:

The ribbon palm has a leafy crown packed with fronds. The palm derives its name from the frond tips weeping down like ribbons. This allows for lots of graceful movement with the slightest of breeze. The leaflets are bluish green. Tolerant of dry soil but grows better in moisture retentive soil with full sun.

  • The ribbon palm can survive temperatures into the mid teens.
  • It can be planted as a single specimen but is more striking when planted in groups of 3.
  • Can reach heights of 30-40 ft. in the Charleston area.
